National police/judicial record (e.g. FBI Identity History Summary for US citizens), issued within ~6 months, apostilled by the issuing country's competent authority (US: Dept. of State for federal docs) and translated to Spanish by a sworn translator in Peru.
Official letter/certificate from pension fund or social security showing at least USD 1,000/month, apostilled and translated to Spanish.
Proof of health insurance coverage for the stay in Peru (typically 1 year), increasingly enforced for residence categories.

Peru is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention (in force since 30 Sept 2010), so foreign documents (criminal records, income/pension letters) need an apostille from the issuing country's competent authority plus a sworn Spanish translation done in Peru; documents from non-member states must be legalized at a Peruvian consulate instead.

If you don’t have that, the independent-worker residence is an active but less certain option, reported to start around the same USD 1,000 monthly threshold, though it’s not officially confirmed. For most remote workers, the real question is whether you can prove passive income, because that’s the cleanest path to residency and eventually permanent status.
