What that does not change

A commission never buys a recommendation, a ranking or a place on a page. Nobody can pay to appear here, and nobody can pay to move up.

We recommend things we would use, and we say so plainly when we would not. If the honest answer is that a product is wrong for most people, that is what the page says, whether or not there is a commission attached to it.

We show you things we earn nothing on

Plenty of what we recommend pays us nothing at all. Some of the best options for people living this way have no programme, or one we are not in, and they sit in our lists on exactly the same terms as everything else.

This is the part most disclosures leave out, and it is the part that matters. A page that only ever features products with a commission attached is an advert whatever it says at the bottom.

Where the money comes from

Broadly: financial products such as credit cards and banking, insurance, connectivity, travel booking, and gear. Some through a company directly, some through affiliate networks that sit in between.

We are deliberately not publishing a list of individual programmes here, because that list changes and a stale one would be its own kind of misleading. Where a specific page carries offers we may be paid on, that page says so next to the offers rather than only here.

What we cannot promise

Nothing here is financial advice, and none of it is tailored to you. Rates, fees, bonuses and eligibility change constantly and differ by where you live and where you are tax resident. Whatever we publish, the issuer’s own page is the only thing that is current by definition, so check it before you commit to anything.
