Aftercare is on you
You fly home before you have fully healed. If something needs attention later, a surgeon in your own country often will not touch another clinic’s work. Plan who handles your follow-up, and budget for a second trip in case you need one.
Watch for in-theatre upsells
A price agreed by message can grow once you are on the table or already in the chair. Get the full quote in writing before you travel, ask what is not included, and treat a number that keeps moving as a reason to slow down.
Vetting that lives only on WhatsApp is a red flag
A real clinic has an address, a landline, and reviews you can read. If everything runs through one WhatsApp or Instagram account and no verifiable business sits behind it, walk. Confirm the clinic exists before you send a deposit.
Do not pick on price alone
The cheapest walk-up quote is rarely the one people are glad they took. Weigh the surgeon’s record and the clinic’s reviews first, then the price. Saving a few hundred dollars is a poor trade against a result you have to live with.
